Visit to Coorg, Madikeri on 14-15 Jun, 2016

Cheerful Group on the way to Coorg
Raja's Seat, Madikeri is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains.  A pleasant scene  of the greenery of high rise mountains attired with mist.  It is shaped like a small square in brick and mortar, with four pillars bridged by arches, enhanced by beautiful surroundings.  It is built on a high level ground with a commanding view of the cliffs and valleys to the west.  There is also a Toy Train for children and accompanying adults.

Elephant Camp, Dubare, Madikeri very scenice place on the bank of Kaveri river. One has to cross the river to reach the elephant camp. A must visit once you are in Medikari. Nice views of the forest from the bank of the Kavari River.

Namdroling_Monastery  is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. Located in Bylakuppe, in Mysuru district of the state of Karnataka, The monastery is home to a sangha community of over five thousand lamas (both monks and nuns), a junior high school named Yeshe Wodsal Sherab Raldri Ling, a religious college (or shedra for both monks and nuns) and hospital.

Very nice sacred temple providing serenity to the mind. A nice place to spent a few hours to relax while looking at other places around Medikeri.

Nisargadhama, Madikeri is a 64-acre (260,000 m2) island, with lush foliage of thick bamboo groves, sandalwood and teak trees. The island is accessible through a hanging rope bridge. There are deer, rabbits, peacocks, and a children's playground as well as an orchidarium. One can have a long walk in this island which is maintained by the forest department.  The island clean and some of the trees are decorated with artistic pictures. The Kaveri riverside is very beautiful and one should spent time on sitting very next to the flowing river water and just enjoy the noise of the flow.

Talakaveri is the place that is considered to be the source of the river Kaveri. It is located on Brahmagiri hills near Bhagamandala in Coorg district, Karnataka.

We visited this place in the evening from Medikeri on snaky roads on the green mountains. The weather was cloudy and it started rains once we reached the temple. We all were in the clouds and visibility was hardly a few meters.

Triveni Sangam and Bhagandeswara Temple On the way back from Talacauvery, lies the Triveni Sangam (also called as Bhagamandala). It is the confluence of three rivers—Kaveri, Kannike and the mythical river Sujyoti. On this holy spot, the Bhagandeswara Temple was built in the early 11th century by the Cholas. Dedicated to Lord Shiva and his sons Subrahmanya and Ganesha along with Lord Narayana,
