Day 16 - Visit to Sanchi, Tropic of Cancer, Ujjain, Saraf Galli on 30-Nov-2018

Sanchi  is a Buddhist complex, famous for its Great Stupa. The Great Stupa at Sanchi is one of the oldest stone structures in India, and an important monument of Indian Architecture.[1] It was originally commissioned by the emperor Ashoka in the 2nd century BCE.  In the 1st century BCE, four elaborately carved toranas (ornamental gateways) and a balustrade encircling the entire structure were added. The complex has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Day 10- Visit to Puri and Konark as on 23-Nov-2019

Jagannath Temple Puri is one of four pithas (important place for Hindus) along with Dwaraka, Rameshwaram and Badrinath.  Spent about 3 hours in the premises of the Jaganath Temple and also had delicious prasadam in an earthen pot. The market is good but could spent about 30-45 minutes. Need to visit this place once again and move around in this holy city.

Day 05 - Visit to Humpi, Raichur as on 19-Nov-2019

Humpi-capital of Vijayanager empire is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It became the centre of the Hindu Vijayanagara Empire capital in the 14th century. Hampi was a prosperous, wealthy and grand city on the banks of Tungabhadra River, with temples, farms and trading markets.  The Vijayanagara Empire was defeated and destroyed by a coalition of Muslim sultanates of Bijapur, Golconda, Ahemednagar, Bidar in 1565. 

Read about prosperity Vijaynagar Empire and its destruction of Humpi in school and could visit this historical place. Realized both aspects of prosperity and massive destruction by the sultanates.

Day 04 - Visit to Kudal, Aihole, Pattakadal, Banshankari, Hospete as on 18-Nov-2018

Day 04 proved to be very busy right from early morning to the late evening we were busy in visiting Kuadl, Aihole Pattakadal and Banshanakri. Actually, Aihole and Pattakadal requires more time to watch the monuments. But could spent very limited time these location. Thinking of visiting these places once again to get into the details.

Kudal Sangam  as the holy pilgrim and trenowned for temple of Sangameshwara  on the river bank, at the confluence (Triveni Sangam) of the Krishna, Ghatprabha and the Malaprabha rivers. The temple is build in Chalukya style. The tample campus is clean and maintained by Kudalsangama Development Board

Visit to Haldighati, Kumbalgarh Fort, Ranakpur Jain Temples on 12-Dec-2016

After spending two days in Nathdwara and started return journey to Navapur and Thane. Ankit and Priyanka suddenly changed the route to head towards the Haldighati, Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur Temple. All the three places where scenic and historical. The Kumbal Fort has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visit to Elephanta on 16-May-2016

Visited Elephanta Caves once again with Rajani Kaku, Sejal, Niharika, Sadhana and myself in very hot climate. The travel became some what comfortable with sea breeze . The place is my favorite and visited for the third time. The caves are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a collection of cave temples predominantly dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.They are located on Elephanta Island, or Gharapuri (literally "the city of caves") near Mumbai Harbour.

Ellis Island was the gateway for over 12 million immigrants to the U.S. as the United States' busiest immigrant inspection station for over 60 years from 1892 until 1954.

Visit to Elephanta on 12-Jan-2013

Visited Elephanta with Priyanka and Sadhana once again and the day was very nice with pleasant and windy weather of January in Mumbai.

Visit to Mathura, Gokul, Brindawan, Fateshpur Sikri, Taj Mahal on 24-May-2009

One long day visit of 19 hours from Faridabad to Mathura, Gokul, Brindawan, Fateshpur Sikri, Taj Mahal was done by car on very hot day. The travel was smooth except that their was some fear after 8 pm. Although the driver was local and known to the route, there were hardly any car on the road or petrol pump.

Krishna_Janmasthan_Temple_Complex  is a group of Hindu temples  in Mathura. These temples are built around the place where major Hindu deity Krishna is said to have been born. The temples were destroyed multiple times throughout history, latest by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1670 who erected Eidgah there. In 20th century, the new temple complex was built with the financial help from industrialists containing the Keshavdeva temple, the Garbha Griha temple at the birth place and the Bhagavata Bhavan.

Visited Amba Devi, Mount Abu, Chittorgarh, Nathdwara, Ajmer, Udaypur, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Chittorgarh Fort has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Visits to Deogiri Fort, Ellora, Khultabad and Aurangabad City

Visited Deogiri Fort, Ellora, Khultabad, Mhaismal and Bibi-ka-Makbara many times since my college days with relatives, friends and once on bicycle.  All these places are of historical and regional importance. A good day out from Aurangabad and my all time favorite tours.

Visited London for two days could cover Buckingham Palace, Madame Thusad, Greenwitch, London, Big Ben, Webminister, London Bridge, Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery.

Visit to the Lake District in August-1999

Visited theLake District with Priyanka, Sadhana and Mr. & Mrs. Dasgupta by car. Fantastic nature, green lush lanscapes. Windermere , UK. Birhplace of Willams Wordsworth. No wonder the poetry of Wordsworth got created in suroundings of Windermere. 

Very scenic place and enjoyed every moment of the visit. Windermere lake is Ribbon Rake and is UK's most popular place for holidays. Cruising in the lake in big boat was really great with green lush forests on both the banks of the lake was great.
