Visits to Deogiri Fort, Ellora, Khultabad and Aurangabad City

Visited Deogiri Fort, Ellora, Khultabad, Mhaismal and Bibi-ka-Makbara many times since my college days with relatives, friends and once on bicycle.  All these places are of historical and regional importance. A good day out from Aurangabad and my all time favorite tours.

Deogiri Fort also known as Daulatabad Fort is a historical fortified citadel near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. It was the capital of the Yadava dynasty (9th century–14th century CE), for a brief time the capital of the Delhi Sultanate (1327–1334), and later a secondary capital of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate (1499–1636). In 1308, the fort was annexed by Sultan Alauddin Khalji of the Delhi Sultanate, which ruled over most of the Indian subcontinent
