Day-01-04 Trip to Konkan from 14-17 March, 2014

A 4-days' tour was done with Vijumama, Mami, Sadhana and myself in Konkan by Tavera.  BEing the month of March, the weather was not very aggressive. The tour is marked by observing holi festival which is quite famous and traditional in Konkan. Kashid beach the sea waves very strong and going into the thigh high water was also not safe.  Apart from Nagaon to Murud Janjira route, the Bagmangala to Dapoli route was very scenic and marked by snaky and narrow roads.

Day-04 - Visit to Raigad and Holi in Mahad on 17-Mar-2014

Raigad Fort near Mahad is a hill fort situated near  the Mahad. The Raigad Fort was seized by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and made it his capital in 1674 when he was crowned as the King of a Maratha Kingdom which later developed into the Maratha Empire, eventually covering much of western and central India.

Spent about 3 hours on the fort and could see the fort in detail as we used cable car to reach the fort top. The reminded all of us the glorious period of Chatrapati Shivaji who vehemently fought with the Mugals and the Shahis.

Day-03 - Visit to Harihareshwar, Kelshi , Anjarle, Harne on 16-Mar-2014

Harihareshwar, Kelshi , Anjarle and Harne travel was through the green forest and coastal roads. Even we used the Veshvi-Bagmandala Ferry service to reach Bagmandala to cut the distance to Anjarle. Moving aroung in Konkan on coastal roads, temples  and beaches is always full of fun and enjoyment and gives ample opportunities relax and rejuvenate from the busy life of Thane-Mumbai.

Day-01- Visit to Nagaon, Chaul, Janjira, Nandgaon on 14-Mar-2014

A two days tour from Thane to Nagaon, Chaul, Revdanda, Murud, Janjira is my all time favorite and "quick to get on type' destinations. These places were visited at least 5 times and every time I enjoyed these trips a lot. Vast sea-shores, dense trees along the coast and on the both sides of the narrow and snaky road, coconut water, homely food and typical lake side temples always attracted me to go to these places and Konkan.

This tour was done with Vijumama, Mami, Sadhana and myself by my Tavera.
