Visit to Munnar on 08 and 09 Nov-2017

Munnar,  "Kashmir of South India",  is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above mean sea level in the Western Ghats mountain range. In two day's Munnar tour, we could cover KDHP Tea Museum, Eravikulam National Park, MunnarKalaripayattu,  Munnar Rose GardenCheeyappara waterfalls.


Cheeyappara waterfalls. Cheeyappara waterfalls lie on the Kochi Madurai highway between Neriamangalam and Adimali in Idukki district. It is around 40 km away from Munnar. The water here cascades down in seven steps, which is a delightful sight.

















Munnar Rose Garden is a beautiful garden with hundreds of rare varieties of flowers and herbalplants. With large tea plantations in the background, this place can be visited during a trip to Munnar. The garden is operated by Kerala Forest Development Centre (KFDC), a Govt. of Kerala undertaking.












Kalaripayattu (sometimes shortened as Kalari) is an Indian martial art and fighting system that originated in Kerala and practiced by warriors of Kerala and Tulu Nadu. There is a mention about Tulunadan Kalari in the ballads of Kerala. In Kerala, The warriors belonged to all castes and religions. It is considered by some to be the oldest martial art still in existence, with its origin dating back to the 3rd century BCE.











We stayed at Green Height Resort which was vert calm and comfortable away from the crowd and noise of a township. 










Eravikulam National Park, Munnar is a 97 km² national park located along the Western Ghats. The mountains are the highest after Himalayan Range.














Rajamala is the tourism zone of Eravikulam National Park and is a place where one can see Nilgiri Tahr at close quarter.







the Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in south India standing at a height of 2695m. Entry is restricted but the view can be enjoyed from a distance at Rajamala.

KDHP Tea Museum, Munnar is an industry and history museum situated in Munnar, a town in the Idukki district of Kerala in South IndiaTata Tea Museum is its official name, but it's also known as Nalluthanni Estate where it is located, or Kannan Devan Hills
