Visit to Dublin, Ireland from Feb-1998 to Apr-1998

My first international travel which brought my dream of going out of India came true after many years. It was business assignment with some opportunities to look around in Ireland.  Visited Tourist places around Dublin like Wiklow Mountains, Dublin Castle, Glandalough, etc. Could not visit Cliffs of Moher which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland. Also, experienced and enjoyed the first snowfall of the life. A very memorable tour to last in the memory for a long time.

A three-months of stay in Dublin - capital city of Ireland gave me an opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Dublin at leisure. The city is situated on the banks of River Liffey.

Temple Bar is an area on the south bank of the River Liffe and is promoted as Dublin's 'cultural quarter', city centre's nightlife, and a tourist destination

The Dublin City Tour for one day covered Dublin Castle and Glendalough in Wicklow Mountains. Temple Bar is an area on the south bank of the River Liffe and is promoted as Dublin's 'cultural quarter', city centre's City Center's Nightlife, and a popular tourist destination.

Guinness Beer is also a part of cultural aspect of Irish people. A self-guided tour of Guinness Storehouse includes an account of the ingredients used to make the stout and a description of how it is made. Guinness Beer is a dark Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James's Gate, Dublin, Ireland, in 1759. It is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide, brewed in almost 50 countries, and available in over 120 countries.

Glendalough in Wicklow Mountains is a historic site which features a collection of Early Medieval monastic structures associated with St Kevin, a hermit priest.  A glacial valley in County Wicklow, Ireland, renowned for an Early Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin.  Glendalough is also a recreational area for picnics, for walking along networks of maintained trails of varying difficulty, and also for rock-climbing.Some part of famous movie Brave-heart were shot here.

Dublin Castle was built by the dark pool ("Dubh Linn") which gave Dublin its name. This pool lies on the lower course of the River Poddle before its confluence with the River Liffey; when the castle was built, the Liffey was much wider, and the castle was effectively defended by both rivers.
